Return to Govt Jobs
Government contracts are steady locum work that can range from three months to one year.  One year contracts usually have options for up to four additional years. The value to a provider of a five year government contract could  quite possibly reach $1,000,000. Government contracts offer steady contract work for long periods, and should be of value to providers who desire or need this kind of locum income.

The positions listed on our Government web page are up for bid.  This means that Camden Healthcare Government Staffing will choose a provider and then submit a bid to the federal or state agency. This will be a competition with other bidders.  Only if we win the award, will the opportunity go forward.

Frequently asked questions:

Q: Can I do this assignment with any state license?
A: This will be specified in the advertisment.  Not all government jobs will accept any state license for several reasons, usually because of the outsourcing comprehensive medical services.

Q: What does the job pay?
A: Their is no defined rate.  We ask providers to give us their requirements and then we choose the provider we think will give us the best chance of winning the contract award.

Q: Is the government flexible on days, hours, start times, software systems, etc?
A: For the most part, no.  Some projects may have some wiggle room on days. The government is not into frequent changes to accomodate providers.

Q: Can I try the assignment for a while to see if I like it?
A: No

Q: What if I don't like the assignment and want to quit?
A: Camden is looking for a serious commitment.  Non-performance, or poor performance, on a government project can cause Camden to be charged with all expenses associated with finding a new contractor.  By contract, you will be charged for all expenses the government charges us for non-performance.  Worse, Camden will be labeled as a non-performing contractor and placed on a "Termed Contractor List" that will affect Camden's ability to get future contracts and future revenue.  Camden takes all commitments by providers very seriously.

Q: Does Camden provide malpractice insurance?
A: If you already have malpractice insurance in place, you will be required by contract to make it "primary".  If you don't have malpractice insurance, Camden will provide it.
